King of Pops Leadership Trainee

Catapult  is the King of Pops rotational leadership program. 


At the risk of sounding too cliched, we want you to know that working at King of Pops is not like working at most other places. Why? Well, that can be tough to describe without experiencing it firsthand, but we owe it to you, Dear Applicant, to try.

The Opportunity

The Catapult Program at King of Pops is a six-month long experiential learning and leadership development program designed to launch talented individuals further into their careers, with knowledge and skills that will allow them to excel in a leadership role.  

While in the program, Catapulters will rotate first through Atlanta before going "on assignment" in another King of Pops city for three months. 

During their first three months in Atlanta, Catapulters serve alongside other “full-time” Operations Leaders where they will share job descriptions and roles. The local GM and Catapult Director will work to train participants in each functional area while also giving the opportunity to set goals and have true influence.

At each stop along the way, participants must "graduate" by showing progress toward professional and personal goals. Upon successful completion of the six-month long program, participants work with the Catapult Program Director and King of Pops leadership for placement into a full-time management role.

Ideal candidates will have the following personal and professional characteristics:

  • Creative and resourceful
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Displays a bias to action
  • Flexible and fearless
  • Loves King of Pops!

What your day-to-day looks like

  • Manage our cart staff 
  • Open (or close) pop facility each day
  • Manage the King of Pops facility (keep it clean, keep it running smooth!)
  • Provide customer service resolution when needed
  • Reconcile daily cash sales
  • Pack pops into carts and coolers for slinger staff
  • Ensure company equipment is maintained with utmost integrity

In addition to all of the above, will meet weekly for full-day of leadership training with Catapult director. Other projects, reading material and learning opportunities assigned regularly as well.
